INSTRUCTOR BIO

James Edwards

James is the lead instructor for our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Fundamentals class and assists with all levels of Kickboxing as well as the Kids BJJ program.  With a diverse martial arts background, James brings a wealth of experience to the team.

James holds a brown belt in BJJ under Professor Geoff Balme and currently trains with Jeff Piercy.  He also holds a brown belt in Judo, with over a decade of experience in training, teaching, and competing.  His training in Kickboxing began under Chris Tricoli from the Raleigh Institute of Martial Arts, adding another dimension to his martial arts repertoire.

James has competed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at U.S. Grappling Tournaments and as an amateur kickboxer in World Kickboxing Association (WKA) tournaments.

James’ dedication to martial arts is evident through his continued passion for training and teaching across multiple disciplines, helping students at all levels improve their skills.
